It is essential for our society to promote religious tolerance, because it is the only chance and opportunity to live in this world. The government fosters excellent cooperation with all religious communities in Macedonia respecting their independence as guaranteed by the constitution.

This was stated by the Deputy PM in charge of the implementation of the Ohrid Framework Agreement, Musa Xhaferi in an address at Friday's conference titled "The role of religious communities in building peaceful and multi-cultural societies".

He said that the Ohrid Accord was a document that had laid the foundations of "a more secure democratic future."

"The spirit of this agreement is based on equality for the citizens and endorses inclusion, being one of the greatest values of the democratic society," Xhaferi added.

In addition to the Deputy PM, the conference was also addressed by representatives of the religious communities in Macedonia.
