The Government has adopted measures amending the Law on Foreigners, in order to enable an extended stay of foreign nationals in the Republic of Macedonia, along with changes in the citizenship act.

"The two measures aim towards attracting foreign capital and facilitating the realization of foreign investments", said Government Spokesman Aleksandar Gjorgjiev .

According to him, data have shown the purchase of property in Macedonia by foreigners is exceptionally low.

"It is estimated that changes to the laws would increase the attractiveness of the offer, whereas presentation of information through economic promoters and road shows at foreign real estate markets would result in entry of capital in this sector at the onset of next year", added Gjorgjiev.
