MoI, Faculty of Philosophy within Skopje University sign cooperation memorandum

The Interior Ministry and the Faculty of Philosophy within Skopje-based "Ss. Cyril and Methodius" University signed Tuesday a cooperation memorandum.

The document, signed by Interior Minister Gordana Jankuloska and faculty's dean Goran Ajdinski, enables the two institutions to share knowledge and experience, organise joint scientific conferences, workshops and trainings, etc.

Moreover, Jankuloska at the faculty delivered a lecture on topic "Terrorism as a global threat and Macedonia's position in the international peace coalition".

"Today, countries cannot be immune from terrorist threats, including Macedonia. In recent years, the Government i.e. the Interior Ministry strongly demonstrated its commitment to the uncompromising fight against terrorism," she noted.

"The building of organisational, legal and technical capacities to tackle this kind of threats is only part of the efforts made in this direction. At the same time, we took active participation in international partnership and cooperation in the global coalition against terrorism, for which Macedonia is praised by its partners from EU and NATO," said the minister.

Based on the national defense and security concept, the Government has prepared a national strategy on the fight against terrorism 2011-2015. The document provides clear guidelines for further actions, defining the goals and forms of terrorist threats, measures to eliminate terrorism, material resources as well as the dynamics of its implementation.
