Todorov: 800 new employments in the public health system
The Government of Republic of Macedonia on its last session at proposal of the Ministry of health and with approval of the Ministry of finance has reached a decision to hire 800 new employees in the public health institutions emphasizing nurses, laboratory technicians, medical technicians, junior medical personnel etc…
This was announced at today’s press conference by the Health Minister Nikola Todorov, who said that this kind of staff provided through the engagement of short-term contracts or volunteers, seriously lacks in the public health institutions.
- There are volunteers who volunteer more than 10 years in the public health institutions. What worries me more is that these volunteers are the ones who carry the practice and provide normal functioning of the institutions. In a stable health system that should not be the case, therefore the government brought a strategically important decision for the development of the Macedonian health care system, said Todorov.
The minister has emphasized that these 800 new jobs are serious addition to the 400 jobs realized this year in the public health institutions and added that most of the focus was on medical staff, doctors and specialists.
These jobs, he said, are going to be realized in the following year.
