Macedonia, Belgium sign cooperation declaration on social dialogue
Belgium's federal public service employment, labour and social dialogue will be training the staff of the Macedonian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, trade unions and employers' organisations regarding labour and social dialogue in an attempt Macedonia to harmonize its standards with that of EU's.
A cooperation declaration was signed Monday in Brussels by Minister of Labour and Social Policy Spiro Ristovski and his Belgian counterpart Monica De Coninck, MIA reports from the Belgian capital.
The declaration envisages exchange of knowledge, study visits by staff of the Macedonian and Belgian ministries, scientific conferences, cooperation and realisation of joint projects.
"A key document has been signed with the Kingdom of Belgium taking into consideration that the country is the center of the European Union. The country's support for us is significant because Belgium is a country which has been fostering social dialogue for a long time," minister Ristovski said adding that the current government was determined to resume Macedonia's Euro-Atlantic integration.
"A cooperation agreement has been signed with Macedonia on issues related to social dialogue, which is a process where organisations of employers and employees are working together to discuss the country's future in particular in relation to ensuring a favourable labour market," Belgium's minister De Coninck stated.
