PM Gruevski accepts President's initiative for establishment of expert commission on Dec. 24 events
Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski accepts the initiative of President Gjorge Ivanov for setting up an objective, nonpartisan, expert commission to establish the facts involving the events of 24 December 2012 in and outside the Parliament and the ones preceding them, although, as proposed, it should have two opposition and only one member of the ruling majority.
PM Gruevski also believes that a participation of a representative of the international community in the commission that should address internal political issues is not the best chosen approach for the identity card of one sovereign, independent country.
In spite of these remarks and taking into consideration the momentum, wishing to demonstrate constructiveness, openness and understanding the role of the international community in supporting the country's Euro-Atlantic integration processes, we are ready for dialogue and clarifying the facts about what really happened, PM Gruevski says in his response to President Ivanov.
"I wish to point out that (opposition) SDSM's prompt rejection of your initiative speaks only for their responsibility, i.e. irresponsibility for the citizens and the state, confirming what we have been saying and everybody knows, that all of these developments are just a scenario of Branko Crvenkovski for creating chaos in the country, one that he believes might lead to realization of his personal goals and interests," PM Gruevski says.
