Qataris interested in investing in energy, agriculture and tourism, says Saraqini
A Qatari delegation will visit Macedonia in March for formal arrangements involving certain projects, it has been agreed at a meeting Tuesday held between President Gjorge Ivanov and Economy Minister Valon Saraqini and the CEO of Katara Hospitality group.
"Katara Hospitality owns more than 55 hotels in Qatar alone and 20 others around the world. It has been agreed a high Qatari delegation to visit Macedonia in early March in an effort to agree the details over future projects that will be realised in Macedonia," Minister Saraqini stated in Doha.
In a bid to strengthen the economic cooperation between Macedonia and Qatar, concrete projects have been discussed as part of today's visits of President Ivanov to several institutions and non-governmental organisations, MIA reports from Doha.
"At a meeting with Qatar Foundation officials, it was agreed our universities to launch intensive talks for partnership with this foundation," Mr. Saraqini said.
At a meeting with the CEO of Qatar Airways, it was underscored that plans are being made for launching a direct charter line between Doha and Skopje by year's end.
Furthermore, the Economy Minister stressed that at a meeting between the Macedonian delegation and the premier of Qatar, a clear signal was sent to all ministers in the Qatari government that concrete projects in relation to energy, agriculture and tourism should be implemented in Macedonia by the end of 2013.
