Minister Saraqini meets U.S. businessmen
Economy Minister Valon Saraqini met Tuesday in New York with representatives of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce (MCC).
The meeting focused on possibilities for cooperation with the chamber, which has 100,000 members, including Google, Microsoft and City Bank.
"Interlocutors agreed on the signing of a cooperation memorandum between the respective chambers, along with creation of products' list of interest to companies from both countries", the Economy Ministry said in a press release.
Saraqini invited companies-chamber members to attend a business forum in Skopje, where they would meet with Macedonian counterparts.
Macedonia's investment potentials were also presented, including doing business benefits, tax facilitations and current investment projects.
Minister Saraqini presented Macedonia as an attractive business destination at the meeting with MCC Vice-President and BSC Travel CEO Louise Shohet. They agreed on a visit by U.S. tour-operators to Macedonia in April, towards putting the country in the U.S. travel offer.
Saraqini also met with Ivanco Ivanovski, owner of New Jersey-based Fast-Pak Store, which is the largest importer and distribution center of Macedonian products to the United States. The meeting focused on the possibility of distributing new products from Macedonia at the U.S. market.
Moreover, the Economy Minister met with Macedonian emigrants towards their involvement in initiative "Macedonia 2025" through investments in the country.
Minister Saraqini is scheduled to attend February 7 the National Prayer Breakfast, hosted by President Barack Obama.
