Road M6 to Mantovo lake put into use
Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, Director of Public Enterprise for State Roads Ljupco Georgievski and Stip mayor Ilco Zahariev opened Sunday new road from section near Negotino at 20 kilometres from Mantovo lake.
The construction of this road is upon the request of Stip and Konce aimed at these two municipalities to connect, Gruevski said.
We allocated Denar 23.6 million and road at length of 4.5 kilometres is asphalted and operational today. The communication and traffic safety are improved, and inhabitants travelling to Stip and Skopje are cutting the distance by 25 kilometres with this road, Gruevski said.
He said that the new road means new opportunities for development and rebirth of villages, development of agriculture and cattle breeding and improvement of the living conditions in the rural areas.
He said that the Government and Public Enterprise for State Roads will construct 134 kilometres of regional roads and highways amounting to Denar 1.085 billion by end of 2013.
Director of Public Enterprise for State Roads Ljupco Georgievski said that the value of constructed local roads in the country amounts €13.5 million.
With Government’s activities for helping all municipalities in constructing local road network 590 kilometres of local roads amounting to € 45.5 million are to be constructed from 2009 until the end of 2013.
Aimed at improving the situation of the local roads in Stip municipality, €1.364 million were allocated which were granted as a loan to the government by the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Public Enterprise for State Roads will construct new Stip – Radovis road at length of 30 kilometres with budget funds, Georgievski said adding that the construction of Skopje – Miladinovci – Sveti Nikole – Stip highway at length of 47 kilometres will begin next year.
