New foreign investment in Macedonia to open 1.500 jobs
US automotive group Amphenol is arriving in Macedonia with an intention to initially invest EUR six million and employ 1.500 people in the first five years. The Amphenol factory in Macedonia will be located in the city of Kocani.
Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and Amphenol General Manager John Treanor announced the investment on Tuesday.
The company has already engaged 70 workers for production of automotive parts. This year it plans to open 250-300 jobs.
The company has decided to invest in Macedonia because of the opportunities the country is offering, namely skilled labor force, support of state intuitions and above all the solid business climate, Treanor said.
Gruevski expressed satisfaction with the Amphenol's decision to invest in Macedonia, saying that the business move was a result of the Government's road-shows - promotion of the country's investment opportunities across the globe.
