The location is not chosen by chance. Several well-populated cities are in its vicinity, which means that there is sufficient and various work force, Gruevski said.
The zone is close to the crossings on Macedonia's border with Bulgaria and Serbia, which is also the case with the Skopje Airport 'Alexander the Great', road and rail infrastructure. All of these offer potential investors fast, efficient export to desired destination, the PM said.
The new TIDZ will bring numerous benefits, including fresh investments and creation of jobs, Gruevski said, pointing out that the Government would keep investing in road, rail infrastructure and promotion of Macedonia as attractive business destination.
This approach yields results, as any prominent international companies are already present in Macedonia, Gruevski said.
"There is also a great interest for new investments," he said.
Vice-Premier for Economic Affairs Vladimir Pesevski and Head of TIDZ Directorate Viktor Mizo also attended the cornerstone-laying ceremony.
