The reconstruction of the Skopje train station will begin by the end of March or the beginning of April, with EUR 2,6 million to be invested for overhaul of all its vital parts, said Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski on Saturday.

"The procedure of bids evaluation should be completed by the end of February. The reconstruction is the first since the station was built in the 1980s", Gruevski told reporters after putting into use a multi-functional sports ground in Butel municipality.

The reconstruction will encompass the ticket offices, toilets, waiting rooms etc.

"The overhaul will improve conditions both for passengers and employees", added PM Gruevski.
