Culture Minister meets US, Swiss Ambassadors to Macedonia

Culture Minister Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska extended gratitude Tuesday to US Ambassador Paul Wohlers on his country's support of many projects for preservation of Macedonia's cultural heritage.

Wohlers conveyed his impressions from the variety of cultural events in Macedonia and thanked the Ministry of Culture for supporting the opening, operating of the American Corners in Tetovo, Bitola and Skopje. Such corner will soon be opened in Stip, the US Ambassador said.

He also presented an idea for the Ministry of Culture to start cooperating with Washington Smithsonian Institution in the sphere of cultural heritage protection.

Today, Kanceska-Milevska also held talks with Swiss Ambassador Stefano Lazzarotto, the Ministry of Culture said in a press release.

The two expressed satisfaction with the solid cultural cooperation between Macedonia and Switzerland. They however agreed on the need of bolstering the exchange of projects between the cultural institutions of both countries. 

Lazzarotto also invited Macedonia to take part in 2013 international Culturescapes Festival in Basel, which is to present the culture of five Balkan countries.
