PM Gruevski meets British MPs
Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski held talks Wednesday with Karen Lumley and Gemma Doyle, members of the UK Parliament All-Party Group for Macedonia.
Gruevski briefed the guests about ongoing reforms in Macedonia for meeting the criteria for NATO membership and opening of EU accession talks, as well as the measures for improving the citizens' living standard.
The UK support for realization of Macedonia's strategic goals is rather significant for the country, Gruevski said.
He also expressed satisfaction with the development of the bilateral political and economic ties, notifying the substantial British investments in Macedonia.
Earlier today, the delegation of the UK Parliament All-Party Group for Macedonia held a meeting with Parliament Speaker Trajko Veljanoski.
The All-Party Parliamentary Group for Macedonia works on promotion of political and cultural relations between the UK and Macedonia and furthering each government's understanding of the other.
All-Party Parliamentary Groups are informal cross-party groups that have no official status within Parliament. They are essentially run by and for Members of the Commons and Lords, although many groups involve individuals and organisations from outside Parliament in their administration and activities.
