Ongoing construction of three highways will give strong impetus to Macedonia's economy, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski told reporters on Sunday.

A major investment activity has been launched, which will produce new jobs, GDP growth and a lot of work for the construction industry and many other sectors engaged in infrastructure business, the PM said.

"In addition to the three highways Kicevo-Ohrid; Demir Kapija-Gevgelija and Skopje- Stip, the Veles-Kvadrifakovo road section is also under extensive reconstruction," Gruevski said.

The Government is also planning to construct and rehabilitate many other roads, such as Ohrid-Pestani, Kumanov-Tabanovce, Gradsko-Prilep etc.
