Agon Ferati serves as the Minister for Inter-Community Relations of the Republic of North Macedonia.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Faculty of Economics at South East European University, where he also completed a Master’s degree in Business Administration. In 2023, he completed a specialised programme at Lund University in Sweden, focusing on the co-design of sustainable, resilient and inclusive public spaces and public services.
He has built his professional career in public administration, specialising in local economic development, the management of European Union-funded projects, public policy development, and international cooperation. Since 2012, he has served as an Adviser for the management of European Union-funded projects within the Local Economic Development Department of the Municipality of Tetovo, where he has led and coordinated major projects funded by the European Union and international donors.
Throughout his professional career, he has played an active role in the design, implementation, and management of projects under the URBACT, INTERREG, IPA, and EU4Municipalities programmes, with a particular focus on sustainable development, institutional capacity-building, the digital transformation of local government, urban regeneration, citizen engagement and inter-municipal and international cooperation. He also served as an expert on Chapter 8 – Competition Policy within the UNOPS (AUMCO) project, contributing to policy analysis and supporting the alignment of the legislation of the Republic of North Macedonia with the European Union acquis and standards.
Throughout his career, he has participated in a number of distinguished international professional development programmes, including the American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL) Exchange Programme of the Government of the United States of America, programmes organised by the Robert Schuman Institute, and other European initiatives dedicated to good governance, local development, and European integration.
In his capacity as Minister for Inter-Community Relations, he is committed to strengthening inter-community dialogue, advancing equality and respect for the rights of all communities, promoting mutual trust and coexistence, and developing inclusive policies that contribute to social cohesion and the European integration of the Republic of North Macedonia.
He is fluent in Albanian, Macedonian, and English, and has a basic knowledge of Spanish.
