Minister Minchev Participated in the Ministerial Panel at the Regional Meeting on the Open Government Partnership

The Minister of Public Administration, Goran Minchev, participated in a ministerial panel as part of the regional meeting dedicated to the Open Government Partnership (OGP), held in Tirana, Albania.

The event was organized by the Open Government Partnership and the Government of the Republic of Albania, in cooperation with the Regional School of Public Administration (ReSPA).

In his address, Minister Minchev highlighted the benefits for the Republic of Macedonia, which, as a member of the Open Government Partnership initiative since 2011, has significantly contributed to promoting transparency, accountability, and citizen participation in public policies. “It is a pleasure to be part of this regional meeting dedicated to the Open Government Partnership, an initiative that has made visible differences in our societies and serves as an inspiration for finding innovative solutions to the new challenges we face,” emphasized Minister Minchev.

Regarding the efforts of the Republic of Macedonia in the field of anti-corruption policies and building trust in institutions, the Minister stressed that public administration reform is the foundation for effective and responsible governance.
“Our commitment is focused on creating a modern, professional, and transparent administration, where civil servants work responsibly and are dedicated to providing quality services to citizens,” Minister Minchev stated, adding that the adoption of new legal solutions is carried out through an inclusive process in cooperation with civil society and the expert community, which contributes to reducing corruption and increasing accountability.

As a notable achievement, Minister Minchev highlighted the preparation of the sixth National Action Plan for the Open Government Partnership for the 2024–2026 period.

“This year, representatives from the civil and public sectors actively participated in the creation of the National Action Plan. The plan is aimed at transparency, accountability, and includes specific commitments for open government, open parliament, and open judiciary,” noted Minister Minchev.

Minister Minchev also emphasized the importance of ongoing cooperation with civil society organizations and citizens in addressing current challenges and advancing good governance. He pointed out that the Government of the Republic of Macedonia organizes regular public consultations and debates, through which citizens are given the opportunity to contribute to public policy-making processes.
“The Government is working on maintaining a transparent and inclusive dialogue with all stakeholders, which allows for greater accountability and creativity in solving complex challenges,” said the Minister.

Minister Minchev’s participation in the regional OGP meeting further confirmed the Republic of Macedonia’s commitment to developing an inclusive and accountable society through deepened cooperation with civil society and the active involvement of citizens in public policies.
