Today, the Minister of Public Administration, Goran Minchev, emphasized the importance of reforms in public administration during the meeting of the special group for public administration reform, dedicated to European integration and administrative reforms.
Minister Minchev expressed gratitude to the European Union, SIGMA, RESPA, and other partners for their continuous support and commitment, highlighting the crucial role of public administration as a pillar of modern society and a key factor in preparing the Republic of North Macedonia for EU membership.
"Reforming public administration is one of the main priorities in our accession partnership with the EU, part of the first cluster – Fundamentals, in line with the new Methodology for Accession Negotiations. However, these reforms are not only an obligation to the EU but also to our citizens. Our goal is to build a modern, transparent, and efficient public administration that offers fast and quality services for everyone," said Minchev.
Minchev informed about key activities of the Ministry of Public Administration aimed at implementing the Public Administration Reform Strategy 2023–2030, the Growth Plan, and the Reform Roadmap.
The drafting of new legislation is underway, covering laws on public sector employees, civil servants, and professional development, to establish institutional mechanisms for continuous education and professionalization of public servants.
"The reports from the European Commission and the assessment missions of SIGMA serve as a compass for guiding reforms. They show us not only where we need to improve but also how crucial our cooperation with the EU and other partners is," added the Minister, calling for joint efforts to meet priorities.
Minchev highlighted the need to strengthen inter-institutional cooperation and partnerships with the civil sector as well as international organizations.
"Our commitment to reforms is unequivocal, but success is only possible through collective effort. I am confident that through strategic cooperation, we will achieve significant results that will confirm our readiness for full EU membership," he concluded.
The Ministry of Public Administration remains dedicated to achieving its reform goals in partnership with the European Union and international organizations.
